Brain and Behaviour Infant Experiences Study (B.A.B.I.E.S)

Are you currently pregnant or have you recently had a baby? The TRAC lab at McGill University is  looking at how infant brain activity relates to maternal emotions and stress experienced during pregnancy.

If you are between 18 and 48 years old AND are at least 13 weeks pregnant OR had a baby in the past 4 months, you may be eligible to participate!

This study involves completing an online questionnaire and online games before or just after your child’s birthday. In addition, you will be asked to complete a second online questionnaire and a lab visit when your infant is approximately seven-months old. The lab visit will involve an electroencephalogram (EEG) recording to look at your child’s brain activity while performing several computer tasks.

Qualified mother-infant pairs will receive $50 (cash) for participating in the lab visit, plus $12.50 (gift card) for the first online survey, $15 (gift card) for the online games, and $25 (gift card) for the second online survey, a total of $102.50.
