PRISM Study

Research Goal

Investigating the effect of minority stress and related interpersonal experiences on how the brain processes rewards.

Participant Eligibility

Self-Identification:
All participants must self-identify as LGBTQ+

Age:
 
Adults aged 18 to 24

​
Language:
All participants must speak either French or English fluently

Availability:

All participants must be available for a 2 hour in-person lab visit

Study Components

Total Compensation

Qualified participants receive:
$93 in cash for full participation

Step 1

Lab Visit: non-EEG Activities

Participant Activity:

- A 30 minute online questionnaire

Step 2

Lab Visit: EEG Activities

Participant Activity:

- Complete several computer games while your brain is monitored by EEG
  (Compensation: $25 for full lab visit + up to $6, performance-based)

- $6.25 / 30 min

Step 3

Post-Lab Visit Surveys

Participant Activity:

- Complete 3 very brief (< 5 min) daily surveys over 20 days
  (Compensation: up to a $60 in cash, depending on # of surveys completed,

with an additional $8 cash bonus if all surveys are completed)

**Tasks from Step 3 are optional for participation**
